Creating a culturally competent school will take time and buy-in from staff and other stakeholders. Although, a lot will need to be done, the long term benefits can have a positive outcome for the community and students being served.
"To create culturally sensitive educational environments, schools must set goals for success. The benefits of culturally competent schools are numerous and include preventing academic failure, reducing drop-out rates, and engaging students and their families in the school community" (Klotz 2006, p11).
